For Tuesday, February 28th 2012 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Switched at Birth (ABC Family, 8pm) – “Write a Lonely Soldier” – Bay (Vanessa Marano) hears the news of a deadly crash in Afghanistan and gets nervous that Ty (Blair Redford) might be injured when she doesn’t hear back from him within a few days. Emmett (Sean Berdy) is jealous to learn that Bay has been emailing Ty while he’s away, which puts some strain on their relationship. At the same time, Daphne (Katie Leclerc) starts to question her relationship with Wilke (Austin Butler) and asks that he start to learn some ASL. Daphne is confronted by a new guy at Carlton school, Travis (Ryan Lane), who questions her loyalty to the school and the program. But, when Daphne’s complaints about Travis get him fired from his job at the school, she helps him get a job at John (D.W. Moffett)’s car wash. Travis proves to be a problem there as well. And, the Kennish’s lawyer, Craig (Sam Page), finds out that Kathryn (Lea Thompson) gave the nurse some money, which jeopardizes their entire case.
Cougar Town (ABC, 8:30pm) – “Lover’s Touch” – There is no time for romance when you’re planning a wedding, and Jules (Courteney Cox) is in full “AWATT” mode (All Wedding All the Time), until Travis (Dan Byrd) is in an accident and rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile Grayson (Josh Hopkins) is feeling neglected by Jules, so the guys try to cheer him up by inventing a new game called “D-Ball,” and things get dangerous when Laurie (Busy Philipps) and Ellie (Christa Miller) want to play.
The River (ABC, 9pm) – “Peaches” – The Magus crew are run aground by another vessel, and soon learn that the seemingly welcoming crew members of a ship claiming to have come to their rescue have in fact a very different agenda, causing a dire, life-and-death situation. The crew also makes a shocking discovery that will leave one of them in tears.
Parenthood (NBC, 10pm) – “My Brother’s Wedding” – The Bravermans come together to celebrate a momentous event while Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger) strive to overcome the emotional rollercoaster adopting a child has put them through. Also, Crosby (Dax Shepard) and Adam (Peter Krause) decide on the fate of The Luncheonette and Sarah (Lauren Graham) makes a difficult decision about her future.
Southland (TNT, 10pm) – “Fallout” – Tang (Lucy Liu) has a bad day that just gets worse when she is served papers and involved in a shooting. Tension flares between Sammy (Shawn Hatosy) and Ben (Ben McKenzie) over the possible planting of drug evidence, and Lydia (Regina King) makes a big decision about her pregnancy.
