Ring Factory Elementary School was selected as a 2011 Maryland Blue Ribbon School by the Maryland State Department of Education. The announcement made this morning by Interim State Superintendent of Schools Bernard J. Sadusky named only six Maryland schools to receive this distinguished honor. The Blue Ribbon Schools Program is a state and national program that recognizes and honors schools that exhibit high performance and/or significant improvement in reading and mathematics achievement as measured by Maryland’s assessments. Ring Factory Elementary School excels with more than 98 percent of its students proficient and above in math and 98 percent proficient and above in reading. Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools go on to compete for National Blue Ribbon Awards, which will be announced by the U.S. Department of Education in September 2012.
