Tuesday morning, a second student died after the Ohio school shooting when a gunman shot five students at Chardon High School located about 30 miles outside of Cleveland, Ohio.
Russell King Jr., 17, was declared brain dead by the local medical examiner office early Tuesday morning, according to the Associated Press. Monday, another student, Daniel Parmertor, 16, was declared dead after being shot.
Five high school students were shot Monday morning in the cafeteria of Chardon High. The high school is closed today.
Monday afternoon, one student was in critical condition, another was listed in serious condition, and one was stable.
One of the teachers at the high school chased the gunman out of the school and is said to be a hero that may have saved lives on Monday.
Monday morning, at 7:40 am a gunman opened fire in the cafeteria at Chardon High School near Cleveland, Ohio. The cafeteria is near the entrance to the high school. The suspect was arrested outside the high school and was placed in solitary confinement. The gunman was not a student at the high school, but was a student at an alternative school for at-risk students. The suspect, T.J. Lane, 17, has a court appearance scheduled for 3:30 pm Tuesday.
