Mondays usually suck. The weekend has ended and work and/or school is back in full force. Instead of whining about it just continue the weekend. Scott H Biram and Lydia Loveless are more than qualified to help you out with this, and this Monday night at the EARL, they will be sharing time on stage.
Biram, known as the Dirty Old One Man Band, offers up tunes filled with bad decisions (“Wind Up Blind”), bad women (“Dontcha Lie To Me Baby”) and bad luck (“Born In Jail”). Armed with his weathered guitar Biram is out supporting his latest album, Bad Ingredients. He is hitting up any club, bar or hole in the wall that wants to let him play his tunes. Luckily Atlanta is on that stop.
Lovelss is cut in a similar mold. Singing of troubled times and heartbreak, her music is the perfect mix of rock and honky-tonk country. Heavy on the jangly guitar and pounding drums her tune deal with bad choices, Jesus and Steve Earle. She will be jamming songs from her latest album Indestructible Machine, which by the way is one of the best records of 2011.
There you go, two great acts to keep your weekend rolling into Monday. So get your work done, grab some dinner then get to The EARL for some ice cold brews and some killer music. Who knows, maybe Biram will write you a note to excuse you from work/school on Tuesday.
