Welcome Spring celebration from ISM Lockport Gallery, an invitation goes out to all senior citizen artists, who want to get together to plant a community paper garden. How does your garden grow, you ask? An art form of collage technique, will bring all of our precious seniors together for a wonderful elders event. This event is free, but registration is required, and spaces are limited.
Illinois State Museum located at 201 W. 10th st, Lockport IL invites senior artists to join a day of community art. Senior Garden Grow event takes place Tuesday March 20th, 2012, starting at 1:30pm to 3:00pm. Registration and information can be found at website www.museum.state.il.us.
The invitation to senior budding artists taking place at the museum is to celebrate the first day of spring. Making our garden grow project is a group collage activity. All the participants can feel worthwhile in creating this group art project and the finished product will be titled “Grow”and on display for all to enjoy.
There is presently an exhibit called Luminous Ground, with older artists inspiring others with their creativity. These artists have many radiant works of art displayed, throughout their art producing lifetime. All are deep in number and thought at the age of 70 – 90 years.
Works of Elizabeth Rupprecht are on exhibit, as part of the Luninous Ground exhibit (artists with history). She taught classes for over 50 years at the school of the Art Institute of Chicago and continues to inspire young artists today.
