The following article is part of an ongoing effort to help homeless dogs in and around the Toronto/Hamilton area find suitable and loving homes. Sometimes this effort extends even further, since there are so many dogs that find themselves in dire circumstances. Currently, the need is great but the homes are few. Your help is desperately needed.
Loyal Rescue of Peterborough, Ontario (east of Toronto) recently took in an adorable Shih Tzu named Missy.
This spunky 5-year-old came into care because her owners could no longer care for her. Unfortunately, this dear little girl had to have one eye removed because of a serious infection when she was a puppy. However, she has adapted to the situation and does not let it bother her.
Missy weighs approximately 16 lbs. and is currently staying in a foster home in Cambridge. According to her foster mom, she is friendly, happy and energetic.
“Missy is a very happy dog who loves people and attention. She did not have many rules with her first family but has done well in obedience classes here. She walks nicely on a leash and no longer barks at squirrels or other dogs. She loves her toys and running at top speed in the fenced yard.”
Missy is housetrained, up-to-date on her routine shots and spayed. She does not get along well with other dogs or cats and it is recommended that she go to a home with only older children.
If you are interested in adopting her or would like more information, contact Loyal Rescue by email at info@loyalrescue and put “Pet Inquiry: Missy 1144 PFId#22089644’ in the subject line.
You can submit an Application Form through the Loyal Rescue web site.
