One more winter is almost over. It’s time to start counting down the days until Spring! If you do enjoy the cold weather though, there is a lot to do. Such as sled riding.
If ever in the Warren, Pa. area, a great place to go sledding is at Russell Elementary School. There is a good hill, just enough by time you climb back up to the top you’re almost pooped out. It’s great at about 8 at night. There is just enough light to see the bottom and there is usually a few other kids and adults alike heading down the hill.
Another great spot to go is Chapman Dam State Park. They have a big hill that will get you going pretty fast! There is a warming hut so when you can’t feel your toes anymore, just head in there and warm up for a second or two. It can get pretty busy up there in the day.
Both places are a pretty short drive from the Warren area. So if you’r ever in the area or already live here, grab a few mugs of hot cocoa and your fastest sled and go for a ride. And don’t forget to dress warm!
