With six months remaining before Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man arrives in theaters, Sony Pictures has begun to launch a global viral marketing campaign that may allow participants to check out some early footage from the film. The following images were posted over on the Hey U Guys forums which show a video projection of the Spider-Man logo that was followed with a line of info that provided both a date and website for viewers to visit. The website, www.theUntoldStoryBegins.co.uk, allowed fans in the U.K. to enter their info and reserve their place to receive passes for a sneak peak of the film on February 6th.
A similar website (http://www.theuntoldstorybegins.com)has been set up for international audiences that allows for the following cities to apply for special sneak-preview passes; Berlin, London, Los Angeles, Madrin, Mexico City, Moscow, New York City, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Seoul, Sydney and Tokyo.
Directed by Marc Webb, The Amazing Spider-Man arrives in 2D and 3D theaters on July 3, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.
