So what’s hot for spring this year? Ready to try out some of the new fashions and beauty trends now that the weather is starting to warm up? Well I am here to fill you in; spring 2012 fashion trends to look for include happy go lucky themes, bright colors, and lots of spirit. We all went through some tough times with the economy, world distastes and other trying events in 2011. Fashion is ready to help us escape all that. We are going back to nostalgia of the gold era (the 20’s and 30’s) and continue to wear bright colors (neon’s, warm beach colors, pastels, and anything nautical). Tangerine is one of my favorite colors that I have seen in the stores and on the runways; it’s great on tan and dark skin tones. Men don’t forget these trends apply to you as well. Try adding these colors into your outfits via pocket squares, shoes, laces, cuff links, belts, and prints. A personal favorite of mine is the Chucks and Oxfords, both a great shoe now available in many colors. Tailored shirts, slacks, and sport coats are all the rage. Feeling bland, play with checks on checks, and prints on prints (small on large or large on small).
The trends don’t stop there, hair and makeup are also important. I recently got the opportunity to learn a few tips and tricks at a Fashion Group International event called Sips and Tips. Hot makeup for the spring includes natural eyes and bright lips or vice versa (don’t forget naturals need to balance brights). Stepping outside the norm is a tip from Simply Moore makeup artist and owner Michael Moore. The Simply Moore studio located in Cherry Creek Denver offers custom color matching for foundations, facials, makeup lessons/consultations, photo shoots, and much, much more. You can catch Michael on KWGN channel 2 every Tuesday.
The event went from Simply Moore to XOXO Hair Salon across the street. Owner Rocco Cifu shared with us how to keep hair looking great this spring and a few trends to try. Look to soft touchable locks that are not perfectly kept, be individualistic. When it comes to color, once again, step outside the norm and opt for color melting. Color melting (a.k.a Ombre) involves adding gradual shades of color throughout certain sections of the hair (from dark to light or light to dark). XOXO Hair Salon will make sure to take care of you.
Now you should be ready to start shedding your winter look and implement some of these springs’ trends. The weather has been great and spring starts March 19th, so don’t wait! Get fashion ready for spring.
