100% Irish for a Day TC 10 Mile/5K
Brought to you by the same people that put on Twin Cities Marathon, Twin Cities in Motion will be hosting the 100% Irish for a Day TC 10 Mile and TC 5K. The race will be March 10th, 2012 around Lake Harriet in Minneapolis. The 10-mile, which begins at 9am, is chip timed and includes a loop around Lake Harriet, over William Berry Parkway, 1 loop around Calhoun and finishes with one more loop around Lake Harriet. The 5K, which begins at 9:10am, is not chip timed and is one loop around Lake Harriet. You can still register online, $33 for the 5K and $55 for the 10 mile, but hurry because registration fees go up after March 5th!
Get Lucky 13.1/7K
On Saturday, March 17, 2012, Team Ortho will be hosting the Get Lucky Half Marathon and 7K. The half marathon, which begins at 8am, is an out and back course along the Mississippi River in St. Paul starting/finishing at the Ford Plant. The 7K, which begins at 9am, is a single loop course in Minneapolis near Nicollet Island. Registration is still available online for both races, $67.77 for the half marathon and $55.77 for the 7K.
St. Patrick’s Irish Traditions 5K
The St. Patrick Irish Traditions 5K & 1.5 mile walk will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 9am around Como Lake in St. Paul. The race is limited to 700 pre-registered, so make sure to pre-register early! The cost is currently $25, but goes up to $30 after March 11th. Pre-registration closes on March 15th and race day sign up is $40.
St. Patrick’s Day Human Race 8K and 5K
On Sunday, March 18, 2012 the St. Patrick’s Day Human Race 8K and 5K, in its 40th year and the original Twin Cities St. Patrick’s Day race, will take place. The event was initially run by the St. Paul civic organization as a St. Patrick’s Day Mini Marathon. With the race running down Summit Ave. in St. Paul, out of courtesy for the churches on Summit and tradition, the races start later in the day (11:40am for the 5K, 1:20pm for the 8K). It is a flat, fast course drawing in families and elite runners alike! There is also a ½ mile youth run at 12:40pm. There are many different options for registration (more info found here) but individual registration for either the 8K or 5K is $25 through March 17th. You can also register for the SuperHuman (8K + 5K) race for $30 till March 17th.
