Happy new year everyone!
Calling all hungry bears! Ready for an event to kick off hibernation season and give back to the community? This Friday and Saturday (January 13th-14th), Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Restaurants will be hosting a Polar Bear BBQ Coat Drive. The drive will be held at the Wood Dale location, and will benefit Warm Coats & Warm Hearts–the nationwide drive for One Warm Coat. The event kicks off at 9pm on Friday, January 13th, with outdoor firepits, s’mores, hot cocoa, and coffee for attendees. To promote the cause, Sweet Baby Ray’s chefs and cooks will barbecue outdoors without coats throughout the night in shifts. Barbecue pork shoulder and beef brisket that will smoke overnight (under the vigilant guard of the coat-less chefs and cooks) and will be served at 11am on Saturday, January 14th. All guests are encouraged to bring coats for donation, which will be accepted through the end of the event which will conclude at 10pm on Saturday, January 14th. This event is free of charge to attend.
Guests that donate a coat will receive a $5.00 discount on any food or drink purchase during the event. Polar Bear BBQ specials include a chopped pork & brisket platter, turkey & beef ribs platter, beef ribs, jumbo turkey leg, and avalanche white mac. Hot cocoa and coffee will be available, as well as “adult” hot cocoa and coffee. Be sure to save room for the dessert special, which is a winter-themed ice cream sundae. In addition to the Polar Bear BBQ food specials, all regular menu items will be available as well. So smother your plate with one of the nation’s best selling barbecue sauces, and gorge on some ribs to set your stomach in good condition for hibernation season.
So head over to Wood Dale, bring some coats you don’t need, and scarf on Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ. Head over Friday night to give the chefs and cooks a pat on the back for their hard work and dedication to the cause, and head back Saturday to consume the fruits of their labor. The Elk Grovve Village location is also offering Polar Bear BBQ food & drink specials all week through Saturday, January 14th. Please note that the Polar Bear BBQ event will only take place at the Wood Dale location.
