On Saturday, January 7th, a rock show of epic proportions went down at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco.
The highlight of the night (in this review’s eyes, anyway) was none other than The Hooks, a punk/rock outfit out of SF by way of Ireland. The Hooks are a band that has had the pleasure of crossing paths with Shane MacGowan of The Pogues more than once and plays a brand of rock that is sorely lacking (for the most part) on this side of the pond.
Also of note were The Chaw, a band out of the east bay who manage to sound deliciously similar to The Doors, without any of the drug-fueled madness (a win all around!).
Be sure to check out the gallery from this show (to your left on this page), and check out both of these bands in the future; future shows can be found on both band pages, linked above.
