The NFL is coming home to Hawai’i and the Aloha Spirit! The last Pro Bowl played at Aloha Stadium was in 2009. Hawai’i, Honolulu especially, was not happy to see them go! They played the 2010 Pro Bowl in Miami, Florida.
Why? Perhaps they were trying to see if they could rekindle a broader interest? It may have been a more financially sound decision. The word out there now is that the State of Hawaii and the NFL are talking things through to make things more feasible for both parties.
Hawai’i just thinks the Pro Bowl belongs here and many people were stunned when the announcement was made back in 2009 — they would not be returning in 2010. “Huh? They went where? Why?” This year, I am happy to report, they’re baaack! The NFL can grace us with their presence anytime!
Welcome back gang and, “Mahalo!” for finding your way home! Good luck and safe play to the players, lots of sun for the cheerleaders, and a relaxing stay for the rest of the entourage. It is always fun to have some of the different team mascots visit as well. The mascots are sort of like the NFL version of Disneyland.
Kick off is at 2:00 PM Hawai’i time on Sunday, January 29, 2012. Go here to see who’s on the roster. In addition, I’ve heard it said that you can even watch the game online!
