There is a secret to long lasting facial enhancement.
What is Facial Skin Needling?
Facial Skin Needling, or Collagen Induction Therapy, uses the body’s natural healing process to stimulate collagen and melanin in the skin.
How Does Skin Needling Work?
Skin Needling is a unique process that stimulates collagen by creating a minor trauma to the skin using a sterile needle grouping. The needle grouping is inserted into the epidermal layer of the skin, to create a wound which then signals the brain to send collagen to the injured site for repair. This signal creates an abundance of collagen to the injured area thus restoring the integrity of the skin, and stimulating collagen in the epidermal and dermal layers.
Skin Needling to Treat Facial Aging
Skin Needling can be used to improve signs of aging in the face including the nasolabial folds, and will reduce the signs of aging by softening wrinkles in the periorbital and perioral areas of the face. Skin Needling can also be used to treat aging lips by plumping the lips giving the face a more youthful appearance. Skin Needling Therapy is a safe and effective way to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production with long lasting results.
Treating Acne Scars
With acne scars, there is a disruption in the basement membrane and collagen formation. With scarring, there may also be a disruption of the melanocytes and melanin incontenience may occur. Using Skin Needling therapy will encourage collagen remodeling in the depressed area and improve the appearance of acne scars.
There are many causes of hypopigmentation which is a loss of color or melanin in the skin. Skin Needling Therapy stimulates the process of regenerating the skin’s melanin production in hypopigmented areas, by signaling the brain to send melanocytes to the treat area to repigment the skin. This process of Melanocyte Restoration, will improved discolored areas, and will blend in with the patient’s natural skin tone. With this procedure, there is a 90% success rate in restoring the skin’s melanin production. For optimal results, the patient must expose the treated area to 30 minutes of natural sun light or tanning bed the day of the procedure, and the following day. A series of treatments may be necessary for optimal repigmentation.
Scar relaxation is the process of relaxing tissue that has become twisted by excess production of collagen. Skin Needling is done in the dermal layer of the skin, which signals the brain to break down fibrous bands of collagen in the scar. Burn scars, surgical scars, and other tissue improve with results ranging from softening the appearance of the scar, to increased range of motion. In most cases, patients have regained total range of motion with applicable treatment sessions. This procedure has shown astounding results when treating twisted and contracted scar tissue.
As with any cosmetic procedure, it is important to assist the skin during the healing process. The use of topical atelocollagen, hyaluronic acid, pantothenic acid, GHK copper peptide or L-ascorbic acid, will accelerate healing and encourage collagen renewal. Using a sun screen that contains zinc oxide, will protect new cells from the damaging affects of the sun.
