Word has it that Founder of the Sundance annual film festival, Robert Redford, is none too keen on the growing circus of free swag gifting suites during his beloved film selection competition and, according to the unofficial Sundance event list guru Chris Ryan of Oceanside Entertainment, 2012 brought an increase in celebrity gifting suites at this year’s festival and with it an increase in brand presence and celebrity gifting glee.
But you don’t have to pack up and fly to the mountains of Park City, UT to get your fashion fix. Below are the top 10 gifting suites from Sundance 2012 and where a DC Sundance groupie can find their own swag, five finger discount not included.
1. Back room at The Creative Coalition Spotlight Initiative Awards
Honorees such as Common, William H. Macy and Kate Bosworth were gifted with the new 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tablet and a month of free internet service courtesy of AT&T. Common and Macy gladly posed with the killer swag but Bosworth simply responded with a condescending smile and a “Oh no, I don’t do that.” Scoring one of these new tablets just released on the market was certainly a highlight of the week for anyone able to get one.

2. Sundance Chic Suite at Flight Boutique
Squeals of delight echoed in the small upstairs gifting room where editors and stars, such as Stephanie Pratt of The Hills fame, snapped up BB Dakota jackets, Motel tees, NCLA nail polish, Tocca sunscreen wipes, Plush winter hats and gloves, Wildfox tote bags and Saga gear for the boys.

3. Talent Resources Suite
An annual top notch swag stop, the TR suites front doors are always jam-packed with would be attendees. Mary J. Blige ordered a rainbow spectrum of denim from the never-stretch-out-of-style DL 1961 brand while Annalynne McCord tried on booties chosen for her by shoe designer Matt Bernson himself. Sean John doled out surprisingly chic and very warm winter coats for men and women while NYC restaurant Beau Marchais provided to-die-for tuna tartare and gnocchi to keep the starlets from getting too hungry.

4. CW3PR re: Treat at Skylodge
Celebs such as Liv Tyler, Elizabeth Olsen and Lake Bell received goodies from Burt’s Bees, Tarte Cosmetics, premium Paul Mitchell products including their new Mitch line for men, Groupon gift cards, Vanity Girl lighted mirrors (popular with the likes of Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift) and more.

5. Vevo PowerStation & Sorel Suite
The likes of James Marsden, Isla Fisher, bachelor Ben Flajink and singer Natasha Bedingfield received boots by Sorel and beauty products by Fresh to help them brave the falling snow and harsh temperatures of Park City.

6. Kari Feinstein Lounge
The Kari Feinstein lounge is one of the more long-standing gifting suites of and this year it boasted a number of individual rooms with incredible breakthrough brands. Unfortunately many of them were too high-end for gifting, such as the lust worthy leather jackets by Ruksak and the True Grit-inspired one-of-a-kind menswear designs by Tracker – a former Marc Jacobs designer. However, many guests were able to snap up Paul Smith monkey earmuffs and truly original sandals by Koolaburra.

7. ESPN Lounge
May not be a gifting suite but with an open bar and big screen TV sports viewing at the swank St. Regis hotel in Deer Valley, while rubbing elbows with some major VIPs like Nick Lachey and Paris Hilton, football never looked so good.

8. Miami Oasis
Consistently PACKED to the brim with guests due to its popularity, the Miami Oasis VIP Lounge boasted Carlo Panzolini shoes, SOUL by Ludacris headphones and oodles of Udi’s Gluten-free snacks (the snickerdoodle cookies were a favorite amongst celebs like L’il John, Tinsley Mortimer and Blythe Danner).

9. Gen Art Bertolli Soup
Gen Art returned this year and proved that it can still bring in the star wattage with attendees like Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, Rashida Jones, Justin Long, Christina Hendricks and hubby Geoffrey Arend, Laura Prepon, Danny Masterson, Chris Masterson, Wilmer Valderrama and more enjoying Bertolli Soup (and libations) into the wee hours.
