Today we reveal number three on our list of the Top 5 Thrill Rides at Disney. In case you missed Day 1 (Space Mountain) or Day 2 (Expedition Everest), go check them out. So where are we headed today? Today we are in Epcot. What ride, you ask? Test Track, baby!
It seems innocent enough in theory – you get to ride through a replica of a test track that GM uses to test their vehicles. You get to drive over different rumble blocks, see the different between anti-lock brakes and regular brakes, heat tests, cold tests, even a corrosive agent test. You can feel how they test the steering through curves and acceleration on a steep climb. But the best part is the acceleration; let’s see what this car can do! Your car is given some proverbial gas and heads outside to go around the banked track at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour!
It’s the excitement of the testing meets the thrill of the open road that makes this such a great ride. There is a 40” height requirement but most kids will leave this ride just waiting for their own license and convertible. This ride can attract large crowds and tends to have a slower moving queue. Try visiting this ride early in the day for a FastPass or using the single rider queue.
