Learn How To Be A Beekeeper
The 2010 Beginning Beekeeping Course runs Sat., March 17, 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Get the basics about honey bees: The Clay County Ag Extension keeps a working beehive, and in this short course, you get to work with live bees. Learn how one goes about starting a hive and how much it costs. At the end of the course, you get to take home a jar of raw, locally-produced honey.

Your Kid Can Be A Poster Child For The Symphony
In conjunction with the Clay County School District, the Jacksonville Symphony and Concert on the Green are sponsoring a poster contest to design artwork for an upcoming Concert on the Green event.
Kids K-12 are invited to submit their designs. There is no cost to enter, and no limit to the number of entries your kids can submit.
Prizes include scholarships, cash awards, recognition on Concert on the Green’s web site, and use of the winning images in advertisements.
The deadline to submit posters is Feb. 17 by 5:00 p.m.
All entries will be on display for public viewing at an art and music event at New Grace Church, 5804 Hwy 17, Fleming Island, on Mon., Apr. 23, 2012. There is no cost for entry and no limit on entries.
The three contest judges, chosen for their expertise in visual arts and printing, will pick the artwork that willmake the best poster.
Concert on the Green will announce the winners on or before March 2.
