Tommy Condon’s Irish Pub and Seafood Restaurant is well known in Charleston and it should be. With 38 beers available, half on tap, half bottled, plus occasional live music, it is the place to be.
Tommy’s is not the place you want to take a guest to if you are looking to impress them with the high society culture that makes up much of downtown Charleston. It’s not going to impress them with a historic setting or an extensive wine list. But, if you want to drink some beers and have a great meal it is the very place you want to go.
Tommy’s is known for their authentic Irish cuisine, so of course you can get shepard’s pie, fish and chips and corned beef, but anything on their menu is sure to please. And for action on any given night it is the place to be.
The place comes alive by 830 or 9 and it is generally friendly people looking to get a taste of Guiness or one of the other fine brews that are on tap. In addition to a “straight beer” you can also get the original black and tan mixture, Guiness and Bass Ale, or one of their other nine beer mix creations. Have fun and experiment with one or two. You only live once, you know, best to make the most of it.
And music.. they feature authentic Irish tunes on some weekends. Be sure to check local listings or their web site to see what is going on.
In short, Tommy Condon’s is a place you can go to relax and have fun.
