Last week the National Enquirer upset the family of Whitney Houston and millions of her fans when they published open casket photos of her on its cover. This week the tabloid is releasing a report about behind-the-scenes planning for Whitney’s funeral. Who chose the dress, the slippers, and the jewelry?
Cissy Houston (mother), Bobbi Kristina (daughter), and Dionne Warwick (cousin), supposedly decided on Whitney’s favorite dress out of the 300 in her closet, a stunning purple number for when she “sings for God,” a source told Enquirer.
The gold slippers Whitney Houston wore were chosen by her daughter, Bobbi Kristina. “She knew how much Whitney loved them,” the insider said.

As for the $500,000 worth of fine jewelry the singer wore, the three women included a pair of $200,000 diamond earrings Whitney bought for herself to celebrate the filming of “The Bodyguard” in 1992.
The source added, “The ladies also selected a beautiful diamond brooch and a gold and ruby cross necklace.”
It’s been over two weeks since the death of Whitney Houston, but interest in what took place behind-the-scenes leading up to her funeral is still widespread. Drama has surrounded the tragedy with family ties being strained with Bobby Brown, Bobbi Kristina’s father. The National Enquirer reports further states that Cissy Houston didn’t want to invite Brown to the funeral, but did it for Kristina’s sake. She allowed him to attend the funeral, but not the private viewing where casket photos were snapped of the Whitney. An insider reveals Cissy also blasted Bobby Brown for being “a poor father” to his “18-year-old daughter.”
Will there be peace or closure at some point for Whitney’s mother and her daughter?
