WWE Axxess tickets on sale tomorrow. When WWE brings Wrestlemania to a city, as they will Miami on April 1st, they also bring along Axxess, a huge fan event that involves live matches, question and answer sessions with stars, tons of photo and autograph opportunities and a chance to meet some of the top stars. WWE will be holding Axxess events from Thursday, March 29th through April 1st at the Miami Beach Convention Center and tickets go on sale tomorrow, January 28th at 10am via Ticketmaster. There will be sessions on Thursday and Friday from 6-10pm, three sessions on Saturday (8am-noon, 1pm-5pm, 6pm-10pm) and two sessions on Sunday prior to Wrestlemania (8am-noon, 12:30pm-4:30pm). Tickets are $40 (children under three are free).
For those that want to enhance their experience, WWE is also offering a limited number of “VIP Tickets” for $95 which allows a fan to attend a special VIP autograph session with select top stars. The talent scheduled for the VIP sessions are CM Punk & Edge (Thursday), Triple H & John Cena (Friday), Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho & Mick Foley (Saturday), Sheamus, Big Show & Rey Mysterio (Sunday). WWE Royal Rumble this Sunday. The “Road To Wrestlemania” officially kicks off this Sunday, January 29th, with the Royal Rumble Pay-per-view, headlined by the Rumble match itself in which 30 WWE Superstars will battle with the winner receiving a guaranteed World or WWE Title match at Wrestlemania on April 1st in Miami. The undercard for the show features John Cena vs. Kane, World Champion Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show vs. Mark Henry in a Steel Cage, and WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler with WWE Vice President Of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis as the special referee. It should be pointed out that WWE has made a point to say that “every WWE Superstar is eligible to enter the Rumble” this year, which means any (or all) of the names listed above could be pulling double duty and competing in the Rumble match as well as their scheduled bout.
Of course, the Rumble itself has been known for bringing out surprises, and fans have been speculating on who might come out of the curtain during this year’s event, which will feature Mick Foley and Chris Jericho amongst the combatants. Last year saw WWE bring back Diesel and Booker T for the match, and many are hoping Rey Mysterio (who has said he will be back in the ring before Wrestlemania following his recent surgery) or The Undertaker (who hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since last year’s Mania) might be one of those surprises. One name we can expect to see in the Rumble is Randy Orton, who makes his return to televised action tonight on WWE Smackdown. Another thing to watch for this Sunday is how The Miz fares as he enters the Rumble match at number one (the result of his loss to R-Truth on Raw this week). I would not be surprised at all to see Miz do an “Iron Man” run and make it close to the end of the match.
Who will be the winner? Smart money says Orton, but the great thing about the Rumble is that you just don’t know what WWE has planned, and even though the winner is supposed to get that Wrestlemania title shot, you never know what will happen between now and April.
