Not treading lightly, marching gallantly through the US, Young the Giant is stronger than ever, winning audiences over city to city with their infectous melodies and polished performance. The tour has all but completely sold out, creating momentum for what appears to be a wonderfully successful 2012.
Last Friday night, The Madison Theater in Covinton, KY was filled with a colorful blend of ascending melodies and surging anthems, leaving fans inspired and elevated, proclaiming, “We are the new generation; let’s make things right. … ” It appears Young the Giant has hit their sweet spot, connecting with their audiences in an intimate way, despite playing larger venues where audiences typically feel disconnected from the essence of the music.
Believe the hype. This band is tight. Lead vocalist Sameer Gadhia’s exhibits the high energy and vocal tenacity of a well-seasoned frontman. His lyrical delivery brings a unique charm and charisma that is undeniably magnetic. The bands’ live performance brings many of their chart-topping radio hits, such as “Cough Syrup” and “My Body” a larger than life feeling that is fresh, resonating and dynamic.
Even with YTG’s ongoing success, hitting the ground running with this ambitious 2012 headlining tour, plus having secured several prime spots in upcoming festivals (Bonnaroo, Hangout Festival, Central Park Summer Stage), they are still making time to enjoy the fruits of their success by hosting DJ sets at local clubs throughout their tour. It is well-deserved, boys, so play on….
